Treatment options for hyperhidrosis
Hyperhidrosis is excessive sweating that occurs regardless of temperature or activity. It most often affects the underarms, hands, feet and face, and can affect clothing choices, work and social confidence.
Damien offers consultations for excessive sweating. She discusses your history, rules out other causes where needed and explains the treatment options available, including options that involve prescription-only medicines. Areas that can be assessed include the underarms, hands, feet and face.
Treatments for hyperhidrosis are temporary and are usually repeated. Duration varies between people and is discussed at your consultation.
Risks and recovery
Common effects include temporary redness, tenderness or small bruises at the treatment sites. Less common effects include temporary weakness of nearby muscles (particularly in the hands), compensatory sweating elsewhere, or a result that is weaker than expected. Rare effects include allergic reaction or infection. Most people return to normal activities the same day. Damien explains the risks relevant to you before any treatment and provides written aftercare.

Some treatments involve prescription-only medicines, which cannot be advertised in Australia. Whether a treatment is suitable for you is decided at your consultation. All cosmetic procedures carry risks. Individual results vary, and the outcomes experienced by one person do not necessarily reflect the outcomes others may experience. Cosmetic procedures are not provided to people under 18.
